WELCOME TO 7th STEP SOCIETY NEWFOUNDLAND

7th Step Society NL is a peer support group that meets weekly in the community and in Her Majesty's Penitentiary with volunteers, prisoners, former prisoners, and individuals seeking support as they re-enter their community and pursue new opportunities. The goal is to foster peer support and encourage daily positive decision making.

ABOUT

What makes 7th Step unique is our commitment to a process of self-help and peer support.

We are a process, not a program.

We help our members safely return to the community.

We help our members evaluate their thoughts and attitudes.

We help our members stay out of jail.

The Seven Steps were developed by a former prisoner to demonstrate the promise and commitment to making meaningful change.

HMP GROUP

7th Step holds an inside group at Her Majesty’s Penitentiary every Wednesday morning. These are a means of support and encouragement for members inside the institution.

COMMUNITY-BASED GROUP

7th Step also has street meetings every Tuesday evening from 6:30-8:00pm (see below or email for location).  We provide support to individuals in the community. Members can include former prisoners, federal or provincial, as well as individuals seeking encouragement and guidance as they move forward with their lives.

FUNDRAISING/DONATIONS

7th Step has received support from several local organizations and community residents who we offer our since thanks.  If you wish to contribute to our ongoing efforts, please contact us.

7th Step Society NL Pledge

To face and accept the truth about myself, to maintain my freedom, to become a useful member of society, to help others as I am now being helped.
